We definitely had fun and enjoyed our "It was supposed to be March Break" week together. We had spirit days and fun activities each day of this week. On Monday we had Pyjama Day, we books read about Leprechauns and books about how to Catch Leprechauns and we brainstormed and built our Leprechaun Traps. On Tuesday we had Sports Jersey Day and Hat Day and we worked on completing our Lucky collaborative quilt squares. We wrote about how our Leprechaun traps are supposed to work, we shared our creations and set them up on our desks before going home (in the hopes of catching a Leprechaun overnight). Wednesday we had Leprechaun Day and dress in green day. We anxiously came into the class to see if we caught a Leprechaun.... unfortunately they escaped our little traps, but left us notes and shamrocks in their wake. To our great excitement and surprise....we found out that Mme Soucy's trap caught a Leprechaun. There was great debate over if it was a real Leprechaun, or if the Leprechauns tricked us by dressing up an Elf on the Shelf to try and make us think we caught a Leprechaun:). Because we were not able to catch our own Leprechaun, we imagined what three wishes we would have asked for and made a shamrock craftivity with our wished on it. We also drew our own pot of gold. In the afternoon we then had outdoor rotating center phys-ed games with the grade twos (in our cohort). On Thursday we had dress as your favourite character day. What a fun day seeing all of our classmates dressed as their favourite characters from books, movies, tv shows and even favourite entertainers. We went on a virtual field trip to the sugar bush and we started to learn some dances from around the world in a Global Dance Party workshop. On Friday we participated in a colouring contest and played schoolwide St. Patrick's Day Bingo and had a movie in the afternoon. Although we missed having our traditional March Break, we definitely had a fun time!
