We returned back to our normal routine and schedule this week. In language we started a new daily lesson program - Heggerty Phonemic Awareness. It involves listening, speaking and incorporating action movements in each 10 - 12 minute mini lesson. For more information you can visit: https://heggerty.org/. We are using this program to help us improve our listening, reading and writing skills. This week we read stories about and discussed families. We also had a special virtual presentation about Grandfather's Seven Teachings - Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth. Each truth was related to an animal and we even learned the sign language for each one. I am sure your child would love to share the signs with you! We will be revisiting this theme in the future. We also learned about Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week.
In math, we are continuing to practice tallying, graphing, addition and subtraction skills. We are also learning about fractions of a whole. We have been busy folding rectangles and various shapes into halves, fourths, eights, thirds and sixths.
I hope you have a great weekend!
