The snow and sloppy weather has arrived! Oh how the kids love it! We have definitely been enjoying the snow during our recesses and "extra" outdoor play time.
This week we continued to work on our kindness theme (which will continue into the Advent and Christmas Season). We learned about how to be an upstander rather than a bystander and to seek help if it is a major problem that needs adult help. We reviewed feelings and how all feelings are okay, we just need to make good choices about how we express our feelings.
We continued to work on phonics skills and reading strategies during our independent reading times, guided reading times and whole group reading times. I am so pleased with how their reading is progressing! I will be assessing all children again soon and bumping up their Raz Kids just right reading level once I have done that. Please keep reading to and with your children at home.
We have been working on writing complete sentences using our weekly word wall words. When working on our November writing task, we practiced adding more details to make our sentences more detailed.
In math we have started a unit on area, mass and capacity.
Next week we will start focusing on Advent and the Christmas Season.
Here are some pictures of our writing this week.
