September 14 -18

Week two was a success as well! This week we focussed on reviewing the letter sounds "s", "m" and short "a". We are listening for these sounds in words that are said aloud and we are trying to figure out if we write the letter at the beginning, middle or end of the word. We are beginning to copy sentence starters from the board and sound out unknown words to fill in the blanks. We listened to many colour stories as well. In math we are working on pattering, graphing and counting during our calendar activities. We are also working on representing numbers using numerals, pictures and ten frames. We are practising counting forwards by 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s to 100. We usually start at either 1, 2, 5 or 10, but we are starting to pick a random number from the 100 chart and count forward from there. We started our Samaritans on the Digital Road lessons (religion and safe technology use) and we have been moving our bodies, in a socially distanced manner, while exercising in our classroom and outdoors.
