Wow! We are already in November. Time is flying by in grade one. This week we worked on some math review (ordering numbers, numbers before, after and in between, tally marks, etc.). We started studying 3D solids and objects. We are learning to name, describe and sort 3D solids. We are doing math talks daily, where we are working on explaining our math thinking and we are reviewing math skills on a regular basis during our calendar activities. In language we worked on differentiating between b and d, the letter q and its friend u and the "th" sound. We are practicing our short vowel sounds and trying to use this knowledge when reading and writing In science we are continuing to watch our plants grow and we learned about how our senses help us learn and stay safe.
Here are some pictures from our learning this week:
Have a great weekend!
